LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. – The Lexington County Blowfish Baseball Club are thrilled to announce they will host a special pre-game celebration to honor the Chapin High School Eagles baseball team for capturing the Class 5A Division II State Championship.
The ceremony will take place on Monday, June 15th, at Lexington County Baseball Stadium before the Blowfish face off against the Asheboro Zookeepers. Gates open at 6:00 PM, and the first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
The Eagles secured their first state baseball title since 2018, capping off a spectacular championship run in their very first season under the leadership of head coach Dell Lever. With this latest victory, Chapin cements its legacy as one of the most historically successful high school baseball programs in South Carolina, proudly bringing home the 12th state championship banner in school history.
“We are looking forward to honoring Coach Lever and the entire Chapin Eagles team for this monumental achievement,” said Blowfish Co-Owner Bill Shanahan. “Chapin has a rich baseball tradition, and winning a 12th state title is an unbelievable feat. We invite the entire community to come out, wear their blue and gold, and give these champions the loud ovation they deserve.”
In addition to the championship celebration, June 15th is the highly anticipated $1 Hot Dog Night at the ballpark, offering fans affordable family fun alongside elite summer collegiate baseball and proud members of the Coastal Plain League since 2006.
