Lexington County Blowfish reveal new jerseys, get ready for All-Star Show this summer

An “All-Star Summer in Lexington County” is being promised by the local baseball team.

The Lexington County Blowfish revealed its 2023 season theme during a monthly luncheon. The theme coincides with the upcoming Coastal Plain League All-Star Show taking place at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.

This year marks the second time the wood bat collegiate league league’s all-star festivities have taken place in Lexington.

The team also displayed a sketch of the new uniforms planned for this season. The jersey shirt will be a powder blue color with a patch on the upper left torso recognizing different cities and towns in Lexington County.

The Blowfish partnered, once again, with Skye Design Studios a national leader in sports branding with clients that include Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association and a variety of colleges and universities.

The navy blue sleeves will display the All-Star Show logo on the right side and the Coastal Plain League logo and team sponsor Carolina Comfort on the left side.

At the end of the regular season, the Blowfish will auction off the jerseys, with funds raised benefiting a selected charity.

Another event involving the Blowfish and a charitable theme is scheduled for Feb. 16 at Lexington County Baseball Stadium. From noon to 5 p.m., the Blood Connection will hold a blood drive with donors receiving a $30 eGift card.

In addition, the donor will receive a ticket for the ninth annual Lexington County Chili Cookoff on Feb. 19.  Going from noon to 5 p.m., the returning event features chili makers from throughout the county who will put forth their best samples at the Icehouse Amphitheater in downtown Lexington.

Presented by the Blowfish and Old Mill Brewpub, the cookoff features more than 25 cook teams. Proceeds will go towards a local charity.
