“It’s All About Lexington County”

First of it’s kind Themed Player Jerseys salute Lexington County 

Lexington County, S.C. (March 1, 2021) –This season’s theme is promoting Lexington County and its cities and towns. Every jersey bears the name of a city or town in Lexington County! These player jerseys will be worn throughout the season starting with Opening Night Wednesday May 26th thru the final night of the regular season Saturday July 31st.

“Many of our players have grown up right here in Lexington County and attended local high schools like Lexington High, River Bluff, Gilbert, Dutch Fork, Irmo, Pelion, Chapin, Airport and others,” Blowfish co owner Bill Shanahan said. “These are truly homegrown players! What a great opportunity to honor our towns with their names on the backs of this year’s player jerseys.”

Fans will have the opportunity to begin to bid on these jerseys starting the home opener till fan appreciation night when they will be auctioned off.Proceeds will benefit each Lexington County town/city for the charitable cause that will be selected by the Mayor and/or city officials.

Each Lexington County city and town will have the opportunity to have their own Town Appreciation Night at the Blowfish this season. This season’s player jersey are presented in part by Carolina Comfort Heating and Air and Lexington County Farm Bureau.

Entering into its 15th season, Blowfish Baseball is a proud member of the Coastal Plain League. The CPL is the hottest summer collegiate baseball league featuring 15 teams across Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Teams are comprised of some of the best players from Division I, II, NAIA and NJCAA. Blowfish alumni include players from the South Carolina Gamecocks, Clemson, The Citadel, College of Charleston, Francis Marion and other collegiate teams from across the state and the nation.

Since 2015 Lexington County Baseball Stadium is a venue for family entertainment, designed to host and attract, not only Blowfish baseball, but state and regional tournaments, All-Star games, concerts, festivals and local/regional events including the Lexington Half Marathon. The 13-acre grounds was designed with four of the nation’s most famous ballparks in mind, incorporating field dimensions from Fenway Park (RF 302ft), Wrigley Field (CF 394ft), Yankee Stadium (LF 318) and Dodger Stadium (HP 55ft)..
