CLEVELAND – Former Blowfish pitcher Cody Morris made his Major League Baseball debut on Friday, Sept. 2 for the Cleveland Guardians.
Morris, a member of the 2017 Lexington County roster, was called up earlier in the week as part of the club’s expanded roster. An injury to Zach Plesac ahead of Friday’s game thrusted Morris into the starting role against the Seattle Mariners.
Morris, who was the 223rd pick in the 2018 MLB Draft out of South Carolina, is the 10th former Blowfish player to make an appearance during an MLB game and second this season (J.P. Sears on April 13). Click here to view all of Lexington County’s MLB alumni.
