Joey Norris

Bio

Joey Norris was hired as the assistant general manager for the Lexington County Blowfish in March 2024.

Originally from the DC suburbs of Maryland, Joey graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in sport and entertainment management. He is an avid fan of the Gamecocks, Maryland Terrapins, Nationals, Capitals, Wizards, and his beloved Philadelphia Eagles.

This is not Joey’s first stint with the Blowfish, as he was a group sales intern in the spring of 2020 before being promoted to box office manager for the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.

After his time with the Blowfish, Joey moved to Hickory, North Carolina, where he became a group sales executive with the Hickory Crawdads, the High-A minor league affiliate of the 2023 World Series Champion Texas Rangers. His various responsibilities included selling premium and general group outing experiences to prospective businesses, schools, churches, and personal groups throughout the area and providing service and hospitality to those groups on game day.

After two seasons as a group sales executive, Joey was promoted to director of ticket operations for the 2023 Crawdads season. His tasks included managing day-to-day operations of the ticket office, and serving as the primary point of contact and seller for season tickets.

In August of 2023, Joey left the Crawdads to move back to the Columbia area, and became an account manager with Teall Properties Group (TPG). During his time with TPG, Joey worked hand-in-hand with the South Carolina High School League and the South Carolina Independent School Association to sell sponsorships to various high school championship events throughout the school year.

Joey is very excited to be working under Bill and Vicki Shanahan again, and is grateful for the opportunity to continue his career working in the sport he loves so much, and he looks forward to another great season of baseball.
