Lexington County SC — Our 20th Anniversary logo was unveiled for Blowfish Baseball (est 2006) at our monthly community luncheon as we kicked off exciting news and upcoming events —including the 5th Annual Blowfish South Carolina State Fair Celebrity Boiled Peanut Eating Contest which takes place Opening Day Wednesday October 9th 5:30pm!

The 2019 Inaugural award Winner 975 WCOS Jonathon Rush was on hand to share his funny humor as he will take over the emcee duties for the contest along with celebrity contestants WIS-TV (Columbia) Rick Henry and HIS Radio 92.1 Joe Polek -(full lineup including Brian McConchie WACH TV, Tyler Ryan ABC Columbia & WCOS Kelly Nash to be announced next week)and we all honored Nancy Smith-South Carolina State Fair General Manager with the Golden Peanut Award Plaque with all the winners including Lexington County Sheriff’s Department Sheriff Jay Koon who has won back to back contests!

The Blowfish had the honor to thank a number of our season volunteers including Tiffany Smith/Game Day Ambassador, Jeff Bodenhamer/Blowfish Trainer, Frank Hester/Blowfish Chaplain and Jeff Bracanovich/longtime technical advisor, to the organization as well as hand out some well deserved awards including our 1st ever “Key to the Ballpark” to Kate Eckert our Host Family Coordinator, Jamie Ballentine & Ollie Otter were bestowed a “Golden Blowie Award” for their dedicated work for children with cancer and other serious diseases.

Plus the 2025 Blowfish schedule was released (Opening Night Friday May 30th vs the Macon Bacon in Coastal Plain League Action). Quite a day at the ballpark which started with our monthly networking hour with so many new faces! Continuing to grow each month giving businesses an opportunity to make new connections. a huge shoutout & thank you to Billy Colucci –Colucci Custom Awards premier manufacture of Digital Jewelry!
