The 2025 Schedule is Here!

It’s hard to believe…..Blowfish Baseball  is turning 20…That’s right! It all started back in 2005 when the Blowfish was an expansion club in the Coastal Plain League and just a few months after landing in Columbia SC at historic Capital City Stadium, the Blowfish began their first season June 2nd 2006 vs the Spartanburg Stingers.

The first nine years of the club’s existence was played at “The Cap”  when in 2015 the Blowfish swam across the river to the Baseball Promise Land of Lexington County. A new stadium was built on the grounds of the old Lexington High Football Stadium.

The Blowfish celebrated their 10th year in Lexington County in 2024 and now we celebrate our 20th Birthday in 2025! Opening night for the Blowfish will be Friday May 30th vs the Macon Bacon at “The Lex”.

We’ve got a few changes to announce….

Blowfish GM Tony Baldwin and his wife, Martha, are moving to Michigan for Martha’s new position with Munson Healthcare. The good news is that Tony will continue on with the Blowfish as the General Manager. While a majority of his duties will be completed remotely, Tony will periodically be at the ballpark, including during the 2025 season. “Tony has done a great job over the last two years! Michigan is home for Martha where she grew up. We are happy for this great opportunity for the Baldwins. Thankfully, Tony and I have been able to work out a solid game plan that will help continue the positive momentum as we move forward with Blowfish Baseball.” Said Blowfish co-owner Bill Shanahan.

Our Asst. General Manager Joey Norris is completing his first year back (starting with the Blowfish as a USC Sports Management Intern in 2020. Joey then went on for three years with the Hickory Crawdads(Texas Rangers Single A Affiliate MILB). Joey is up for the task of taking on additional responsibilities and working to help grow the Blowfish brand with owners Bill & Vicki Shanahan.

Many new and exciting promotions are being created for your enjoyment and we will continue to work on enhancing the quality of life in Lexington County with great summer collegiate baseball and family fun at a cost affordable price!
